Bio-ElectroMagnetic Energy Regulation -

Special Light Therapy

Physical interaction – the foundation of health and vitality

Health and vitality are based on interactions that take place at a molecular level and provide the substances and energy which are absolutely necessary to maintain life. In the end, these interactions act as mechanisms of regulation in order to optimize the given sequence of life. They deliver necessary energy and substances to where they are needed throughout the entire organism. As such, these functioning regulatory mechanisms maintain, within certain correctable limits, the natural balance within the organism – health, in other words.

Light Therapy

Three therapy options in one single device:

• Light therapy BEMER 3000
• Electromagnetic field therapy
• Combination of light and BEMER 3000   electromagnetic field therapy

There are 5 built-in default programs and 5 built-in therapy program blocks that users can program in the system. The therapy settings last used are also stored and can be used for the next therapy after the BEMER 3000-SLT has been turned on

Thanks to the synergies created from using monochromatic red light together with the BEMER 3000 electromagnetic field, the BEMER 3000-SLT is especially indicated for applications going beyond those of the BEMER 3000 electromagnetic field, particularly for skin disorders (including regeneration)

All forms and therapeutic and preventative measures have basically one aim: to support those natural processes of regulation that serve to maintain our health. Treatments are designed and implemented in order to eliminate deficiencies in substances or energy; they are based on the broad application of methods that are able to affect physical-chemical interactions in very general terms (concentration of a substance, state of activation and reactivity, temperature, pH value, catalysts, and other such factors).

Of all these therapies, it is the non-invasive use of physical therapy with appropriate electromagnetic fields that is becoming increasingly important. It is based on the

Electromagnetic-field therapy and its effects on natural processes of regulation and self-healing

dynamic effects created between electrical, magnetic and/or electromagnetic fields and changes in motion – and the impact these effects have on the configuration of electrons.

By these means, electromagnetic field therapy concentrates on creating the type of energy environment that is needed in order to ensure that chemical reactions are able to take place.
These chemical-physical processes provide crystal-clear indications that the organism can better supply itself and dispose of waste, enhance its circulation, improve the activities of its cells – all in order to support and activate the body’s natural regulatory defence mechanisms.

Broadband activation in an extremely low frequency range with the unique BEMER 3000 Impulse

Because the charge carriers have varying molecular masses, special structures, a tendency to interact with one another and considerable inertia against mechanical acceleration, the physical success of this type of activation is heavily dependent on the changes in intensity over time in the electromagnetic fields being applied. In other words, the spectrum breadth and the intensity of the stimulating signals in use are key to this process. However, the stimulating signals used in conventional therapy devices – generally sinusoidal, trapezoidal, saw tooth or similarly structured – are limited to areas relatively small in size because their bandwidth is so narrow.

Significant progress was made in 1998, however, when the special BEMER stimulating signal was developed; it enabled every individual impulse to contain a broad range of stimulation options. By inventing the patented BEMER signal, Prof. Dr. Wolf A. Kafka created a therapy system that was nothing less than revolutionary in nature: Bio-Electro-Magnetic Energy  Regulation therapy. It is a pioneer among electromagnetic-field  therapy systems – even for purposes of prevention – in medical and clinical practice as well as for rehabilitation, professional sports and in-home use.

A special form of light treatment – and one that is among other things aimed at selectively activating particular bond structures – is known as a laser (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation). Lasers are typically characterised by monochromatism, with a very high density of emitted energy (monochromatically pure light with only one wavelength), coherence and polarisation of the light emitted. The first  lasers used in the field of medicine emitted beams in the order of magnitude of several watts. This intense electromagnetic energy, concentrated onto a very small space, acts as a scalpel made out of light with which it is possible to cut and remove tissue; thanks to this property, it was first used in operations as a so-called surgical laser.
Now that laser technology has been steadily expanded into various areas of the spectrum, most particularly by reducing output to very low levels of emitted power in so-called soft lasers or LLL (low-level lasers with power ratings below 100 mW), its application is also becoming increasingly important in broad areas of medical research and therapy as well.
There are basically three groups of possible laser therapies available:

• Aiming the beam directly onto injured or
diseased body parts by means of a soft laser,
• Applying a soft laser to acupuncture points
  – also known as laser acupuncture.
• Using lasers in photo dynamics
  (in chemotherapy, for example)..

Of all the endogenous effects of electromagnetic fields, light plays a particularly important role. Without it, we would have no life whatsoever on our planet.
Light therapy using sunlight has a history stretching back to ancient Greece, where it was known as heliotherapy. Several healing factors come together in sunlight.
When absorbed through the eyes, light encourages metabolism and regulates the production of hormones. Overall fitness is enhanced in the process. On the other hand, being deficient  in light may lead to emotional disorders such as, among others, seasonally induced depression (SID), for which visible light, applied at considerable luminance (some 10,000 lux) may be an effective method of therapy.

In dermal light therapy, certain wavelengths of invisible (such as ultraviolet and infrared light) and visible light (colours of the spectrum) and combinations of the various possible wavelengths are used. Also, prudent doses of ultra- violet light, among other things, can be used to alleviate psoriasis and other ailments of the skin. Visible light from the blue end of the spectrum is also used to treat jaundice in the newborn. The use of long-wave red light has proven to be particularly effective as a treatment for muscular tenseness, rheumatic ailments and as an expectorant in case of infection. In principle, blue light is supposed to have an antibacterial effect, while long-wave right light is said to encourage circulation, provide heat and relieve tenseness.

The shift in therapy from laser to LED, right up to BEMER-SLT

The theoretical approach for the BEMER 3000 light therapy is based on the comprehensive scientific studies performed in the field of photo biology. As early as the ‘80s, T. Karu (13) provided proof that the main photo acceptors are enzymes in the cytochrome system of mitochondria. It was proven that light can be used to support the process of energy production in the mitochondria: light is used to stimulate a donor molecule to release an electron,  which in turn passes through various acceptors in several individual steps (electron-transport chain), finally

leading to the phosphorylation and synthesis of ATP. This process is also called photo oxidation.
Comparable physiological responses can be attained by using almost perfectly monochromatic light from the same ranges of frequencies emitted by ultra-bright light-emitting diodes, also known by the abbreviation LED. It is  evidently of secondary importance, in terms of eliciting a photo biological response, to have the characteristics typical of laser light – coherence, polarisation and “focused” monochromatism
.

A synergy of light and electromagnetic field therapy

In the BEMER 3000-SLT system, insights gained from light therapy have been combined with those from the BEMER electromagnetic-field therapy to create an outstanding therapy system. The light sources used are ultra-bright light-emitting diodes that emit a virtually monochromatic red  light that is timed using the BEMER impulse and that has a wavelength of 660 nm. The treatment is largely temperature- independent and does not generate heat.

Two separate therapy systems are implemented in the BEMER 3000-SLT. The light-therapy systems and the electromagnetic field therapy systems can be used separately or, alternatively, they can be used at the same time. In light therapy, a so-called “soft start” may be applied. This means that the light output is gradually increased over a period of 30 seconds from a low  intensity to the higher pre-programmed intensity.
